In general, we hold a service of Holy Communion on the third Sunday of each month, alternating between Family Communion and Book of Common Prayer, but there are enough exceptions and additional services to make a visit to 'a church near you' necessary. These additional services are often lay-led and are traditionally attended by a remarkably large proportion of our tiny village and we are proud of the number and age range (2 to 80+) of those who play an active role in them. These services are drawn from: |
| January | Plough Sunday | We bless the plough, the animals and the soil but also symbols of other occupations, rural and otherwise, of members of our community. |
| March | Mothering Sunday | Children process through the church with baskets of flowers which are blessed and then given to their parents by the children . |
| May | Rogation | We walk or ride around the parish, stopping for appropriate readings and prayers at a field, a hedge, a farmyard, the river Great Ouse, a home, and the church. |
| September | St Giles' Day | We may celebrate our patron saint, our church and our community near his feast day of September 1st. |
| October | Harvest Thanksgiving | Children carry fruit, vegetables and plants to the altar which may be auctioned or sent to a good home . |
| November | Remembrance | We remember those who fell in wartime. |
| December | Carol Service | This incorporates a Christingle ceremony and includes secular readings as well as the traditional Biblical ones. |
| December | Christmas Worship | We usually hold a short act of worship for all ages on Christmas morning. |
