Midweek Church
On the first Wednesday evening of each month Midweek Church is held at St Mary's Church Centre. The format of this is Bible Study and Worship, and it is open to all. Those belonging to midweek groups may then use the material in this as a basis for their discussions in the following month.
All are welcome at these Bible Study and discussion groups. Most groups, but not all, meet on weekday evenings. Contact the Church Office to find details of the group that would best suit you.

The Mother's Union is a worldwide society whose aim is to show Christian concern for families. The Twyford and Ruscombe group is part of the larger Oxford Diocesan group, which can be contacted on 01865 726308.
St. Mary's and St. James Mothers Union's main activities are:
Monthly Service of Holy Communion on 3rd Thursday of the month
Monthly afternoon meeting at 2.30pm on 2nd Thursday of the month
Monthly prayers at 3pm on the 1st Monday of the month
The Mother's Union welcomes all women who declare their support for the Aims and Objects of the Society. It is not restricted to married women with children. Contact Church Office for more information.
The music at the 10.30am Parish
Communion service is led by a keyboard supported by a small group of
singers. A junior choir also helps to lead the singing at this
service.![]()
The music at the 6.00pm Evening service is led by a robed choir accompanied by an organ.

Evening service is led by a group of instrumentalists.![]()
New musicians and singers are always welcome to join our music team, and a special choir is formed in November to rehearse for the Christmas services.
Practices take place on Tuesday evenings, with the Junior Choir practice taking place immediately before the 10.30 Sunday service at St. Mary's.
The Men's Fellowship is a fellowship and study group run for retired men in the Churches. It meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 2.30pm. Contact Church Office for more information.
The Men's Breakfast is run jointly with our neighbours at St Mary's Wargrave and is an opportunity for men of all ages to meet and share fellowship and breakfast, usually on the first Saturday morning of each month at 8am in the Hannen Room at Wargrave. A monthly Prayer Diary is available from the churches for personal use.
Ringing times are as follows:
Practice: Fridays preceding the 1st and 3rd Sundays 7.30pm - 9.00pm
Service: Sunday(1st and 3rd) 10.00am - 10.30am

Facts about Twyford's Bells
The tower was built in 1910 after a long campaign by the Vicar of Twyford, the Rev. R W Acworth whose long term aim was to have a peal of eight bells. The £700 needed was raised fairly quickly because the bells were dedicated on Easter Tuesday 1913.
The bells were cast by Mears and Stainbank at the Whitechapel Bellfoundry in London. The inscriptions on the bells and their weights are:

The Bells are a first floor ring with the tower accessed from the Church Centre round the far side of the Church. The bells are still hung on the original plain bearings.
