Quarendon
The Quarrendon area of Aylesbury is named after the ancient village (Querendone),
just across the River Thame. The name is thought to mean "mill hill". See

The village of Quarrendon was in existence before the Norman Conquest.

St Peter’s was robbed of its Communion plate and linen in 1776!

The last burial took place in 1803.

The present day Quarrendon came into being after World War II to meet
the need for cheap housing. All the prefabs were occupied by August 1947,
mainly by people with young families.
