2008
HOLY TRINITY,
PRESTWOOD
Judith McBride and
David
Page, as Churchwardens of Holy Trinity Church in Prestwood, have great pleasure
in formally announcing
the
appointment of The Reverend Deiniol Heywood as Vicar of
the
United Benefice of Holy Trinity, Prestwood & St Mary Magdalene, Great
Hampden. Deiniol’s Induction and
Installation service, led by Bishop Alan,
the
Bishop of Buckingham, is scheduled for Tuesday 15th July 2008 at
7.30pm at
Holy
Trinity
Church
, Prestwood.
Deiniol
joins us from
St John’s
Church
,
Hyde Park
where he has been
the
Curate since 2004. Deiniol is very excited about joining us and taking up his
appointment as our Vicar. We are very confident that he and his wife Velvet will
settle in very quickly and that Deiniol will drive our churches ahead to meet
challenges now and in
the
future.
Five very strong candidates were interviewed from a total of fifteen applicants
but
the
interview panel were particularly impressed by Deiniol’s demeanour,
personality and abilities. Both sets of Churchwardens are very excited at
the
prospect of Deiniol becoming
the
Vicar of our Benefice.
His
interests include canal narrow boating having had a long history of living on
narrow boats in
London
&
Cambridge
. Deiniol and Velvet love
France
and particularly enjoy
the
lazy lifestyle of
the
South, especially
the
food and wine, and both are enthusiastic walkers.
Having been a choral scholar at King’s College London, Deiniol is a
keen singer and has a great interest in music, so we look forward to him using
this gift in worship and maybe in concerts too.
After
his Induction on
the
15th July Deiniol will be taking
the
midweek Holy Communion services on Wednesday (BCP) at 10am and Thursday (Mums
and Toddlers) at 10.30am, and
the
n his first Sunday services will be on
the
20th July. We hope for
large congregations at
the
se services to welcome him to Holy Trinity.
Please
feel free to ask
the
Churchwardens, Judith McBride (863627) or
David
Page (863176) any questions you may have regarding this appointment.
