Restoring Hope Conference

22nd November, St Anne's College, Oxford

Moved by the plight of many in Johannesburg, Kwazulu Natal, Cape Province and particularly the North West Province of South Africa where their link parish lies, members of the Parish of Kidlington have founded ACHIVA - Addressing the Challenge of HIV and AIDS - and organised a forum for spreading awareness and stimulating discussion of the problems caused by the disease in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Eight experts with experience of related work in Africa will be speaking at "Restoring Hope" at St Anne's College, Oxford on Saturday, November 22nd, as a contribution to World AIDS Day, marked annually throughout the world on December 1st.

This conference will be chaired by the Bishop of Oxford, and the leading speakers will be Masi Cowper, a well-known AIDS Activist from South Africa, and Basil Eastwood, Chairman of "Cecily's Fund", which helps thousands of AIDS orphans in Zambia.

Specifically designed to interest everyone, the day lasts between 9.30am and 5.00pm, and a ticket costing £10 includes refreshments and lunch.
