GLEBE HOUSE SUNDAY SERVICE Sep 7th
Would anyone from St Mary's and/or St John's, like to support me on Sunday, September 7th at 3pm (for half an hour at the most) for the above informal service, as it is the Anglicans' turn to do this. I would like offers of help to do one of the following:- a short talk, accompany the hymns on piano/guitar or any other suitable instrument, a Bible reading, a Prayer or if you don't wish to do any of these just to come along and help sing the hymns! I would welcome any other ideas. Please let me know as soon as possible. Thank you. Pam Cooper

ST JOHN'S 50TH ANNIVERSARY EVENTS 19th Sept and beyond
St John's will be a hive of activity again in September. Firstly we are holding another Shopping Evening on Friday September 19th, from 6p.m. to 9.p.m - lots of interesting stalls and an early opportunity for buying Christmas presents. Then we have another Weekend of Celebrations on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th September. Activities will include a flower festival, memorial flower table, children's vegetable competition, refreshments, an evening of musical entertainment, Harvest celebration (with Revd Canon David Pritchard as guest preacher) and Songs of Praise. So watch out for future announcements with all the details.
PARISH DAY OUT Sat 20th Sept
We are proposing to have another day out visiting Churches on September 20th. I have an idea that we could visit Fairford in Gloucestershire, Avebury and Bishops Canning in Wiltshire. I would expect to leave Kidlington at about 9am in the morning and return in the late afternoon. I estimate the cost will be no more than £12.

Looking to the future it has been suggested that a longer trip might be interesting. I have never visited Holy Island, Lindisfarne on the Northumberland Coast. This could be a three night away trip in a coach and first indications are that the cost for travel and accommodation could be in the region of £200. Please could you tell me if that would be of interest to you?
Anthony

VISITING EXETER COLLEGE, OXFORD
