The Christmas Fair Trade FairSaturday, 1st December 2007 10.00am - 4.00pmExeter Hall, KidlingtonThe annual Christmas Fair Trade Fair will take place at Exeter Hall on Saturday 1st December. Fair Trade retailers from near and far will be bringing everything from Mexican silver jewellery to silk and leather goods, a wide range of kitchen and household items, and designer fashions - with items for all ages and all budgets. There will also be a strong range of Christmas items - cards, ornaments, wrapping paper and more!Stalls from previous years will be returning, including Silver Chilli, with their elegant earrings and necklaces; Art Works for Africa and Pula's African crafts; the exquisite Romanian decorated eggs and embroidered silk items from Transrural Trust; One Village's practical and beautiful pottery, linens, baskets; Hadeel's hand-painted olive dishes, vibrant embroidered goods, and olive oils ... not to mention the wide range of clothing and gifts gathered by Traidcraft, Fairtrade@St Michael's and others. Several new traders will also be coming, giving an ever-widening selection of fascinating and beautiful goods. You can find gifts for all your friends and relations here, and best of all, you can know that the gifts you buy are also providing sustainable livelihoods for men and women around the world. The fair is sponsored by the Parish of Kidlington with Hampton Poyle. It will be open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Light refreshments - fairly traded of course - will be available all day. There's no entrance charge, so come and join us! The Parish of Kidlington and Hampton Poyle is a Fair Trade ParishOur parish has registered as a Fair Trade parish and is committed to using Fair Trade coffee and tea, as well as other products where possible and appropriate. We hold monthly stalls of Traidcraft products at St Mary's and St John's in Kidlington to encourage the buying of these products locally.Other activities include getting involved in local collaborations to highlight Fair Trade issues and to organize events in the village.
