Thank you! MU Epiphany Party
Thank you to all who helped make the Epiphany Party a great success, including those who bought tickets and supplied food and Raffle prizes & helped with the washing-up! It was a very enjoyable evening. Special thanks must go to Branch Leader, Ann Beckett, who not only shopped for extra food & drink the day before, and booked the excellent Launton Hand-bell Ringers to entertain us, but also, along with husband, Stan, and Ruth Rice, Secretary (who also arranged the fun Quizzes) worked hard to prepare the Refectory for the party. On behalf of all of us, thank you.

Regular Lecture Series

Tuesday Working Lunch at St Michael's
As ever, 1.05pm to 1.45pm at the Northgate.
  • 23 Jan How do we value people? This year is the 200th anniversary of the abolition of the slave trade, in which people were bought and sold. Nowadays footballers are bought and sold. People in the city are paid enormous salaries and bonuses, while gang labour is sometimes paid below the minimum wage. How do we value people with severe disabilities? How do we value the homeless, drug addicts, or criminals? How do we value our families and friends?  How does God value us?

Masi Cowper is a South African who has dedicated her life to combating the stigma of HIV/AIDS, and has received prestigious recognition for this, such as the Nelson Mandela Health and Human Rights Award. She is a riveting speaker. After addressing a World AIDS Day conference in Oxford she agreed to come to visit us, and follow that up with a visit to our Link Parish All Saints Montshiwa In South Africa. Masi will speak at our morning service on January 14th. She is working with us to try to alleviate the terrible threat that our Montshiwa friends and so many others have to live with, so please do not miss this wonderful opportunity to hear her story and ask her questions. Kathryn.
