Christianity Explained is a six week course to try and help people understand what the Christian faith is all about. Built on the promise that, while we won't ask people questions, we will try and answer every question others have.
We use Mark's gospel to see who Jesus is and what it means to have faith in him.
The course is a relaxed time of learning and friendship, done in homes with small groups of six or even just with couples.

The Alpha course is a course designed to introduce people to the Christian faith in a clear but relaxed and unpressured way. Through it people have come into a living relationship with God and experienced God's love in their lives.
Many 1000s of people in the UK have attended an Alpha course, who did not normally attend church. In 2001 the Guardian newspaper estimated that 250,000 people in the UK had come to faith in Jesus Christ through Alpha.
I would highly recommend it for anyone wanting to find out more about Christianity, whatever their current position. I would also personally recommend it for anyone who is new to St. Leonard's or who is a Christian but would like to explore various aspects of the Christian life such as prayer, does God heal today?, how can I be sure of my faith?, and the work of the Holy Spirit. Many Christians I know who have done the course have found it enlightening and renewing.
We have already run courses here at St. Leonard's and plan to continue running them.
