The bells of St. Mary's and St. Nicholas' Parish Church

Each of the bells are inscribed as follows;

Treble

"I mean to make it understood, that though I'm little I am good"
Second

"I mean to make it understood, that though I'm little I am good"
Third

The third has the initials of the founder and the date, 1775.
Fourth

"Such wonderous power to music's given, elevates the soul to Heaven."
Fifth

"To people all who hear us ring, Be faithful to your God and King."
Tenor

"Ye ringers all that prize your health and hapiness, Be sober, wise, merry and you'll the same posess."

The bells are rung throughout the year; normally for half an hour before each service, and on special occasions such as weddings. Traditionally the bells are rung at mid-night on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.

Ringing practice is held every Thursday evening throughout the year (except Holy Week) at 07:30pm. Visiting ringers are always welcome, as is anyone interested in learning to ring.
