Where St Helen's is in Abingdon
From the market square in Abingdon one can go on foot down either East St Helen St (directly behind the town hall) or West St Helen St. Where those two streets meet is St Helen's itself, close to the River Thames. By car one can only go down East St Helen St because of the one-way system, turning sharply right (directly opposite the church) to go up West St Helen St, away from the church, and then the second on the left leads to a large municipal car park which happens to be free of charge on Sundays, or on weekday evenings after 6.30pm.
